ASSURE will partner with lighthouse projects aggregating to 100 million sq. ft., by offering technical assistance to turn them into High Performance Buildings (HPBs). This is to demonstrate the potential for change and innovation at scale, across India’s largest cities.
ASSURE’s technical assistance programme will support developers and their planning and design, operations, and facilities management teams in setting realistic performance goals, and handhold them to achieve HPB goals.
The ASSURE team’s deep industry knowledge, experience, and skills include an all-systems approach to achieving high performance, spanning planning and design, technology choice, implementation, O&M, financial analysis, and procurement and regulation.
The transformation of lighthouse projects into HPBs will typically happen with less or no significant added CAPEX, if an all-system approach is taken. It will improve asset appeal for users and tenants who are targeting low operating costs, reduced energy, water, and carbon footprints, more resilient services, and will enable the transition to green jobs.
In time, we expect results delivered in large commercial and public buildings to trigger HPBs in the residential segment too.
Other direct benefits include: material use efficiency across the supply chain; appreciation of asset and rental values; job creation; and, better conditions for workers.
A 2x amplification of these direct impacts by 2030 and a 50x amplification by 2050, is envisaged through a demonstration effect and by developing enabling policy options, financing arrangements, and capacities.
